Elizabeth and I met in the summer of 2008 at a youth leadership program called Anytown, where we were counselors. We bonded instantly and have been the best of friends ever since. After I graduated from college, Elizabeth and I decided we both wanted some time abroad to gain experience and continue exploring the world, so we packed up and moved to China together. It’s been a whirlwind experience, and I think we are both thankful that we have each other to rely on through it all.
We’re goofy, we’re weird and sometimes our friends and family worry about us, but no one can say we don’t like to have fun. While we share many beliefs that we will happily go on and on about, this blog revolves around three: good food, good friends and good wine. Below are short bios in case anyone other than our close friends and family ever reads this and we get famous, which is obviously the real goal here.
Elizabeth Gamino (email@example.com): Elizabeth is originally from High Point, N.C., and graduated from Wake Forest University in 2008, with a degree in Sociology and Women’s & Gender Studies. She’s addicted to the gym and passionate about law, hoping to attend law school next fall. Elizabeth is the person who will randomly run up to you on the street and introduce herself just to make a new friend. For the most part, Elizabeth does the cooking and the recipe-finding for the blog.
Megan Sappenfield (@megsappenfield on Twitter, firstname.lastname@example.org): Megan is from Greensboro, N.C., and graduated from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in public relations. Megan is addicted to Glee and passionate about social justice and proper grammar. You can generally find her singing along to any song featured on Glee and plotting to one day take over the world, or at least the stage. Megan mostly does the writing and photography for the blog.
Together, we enjoy cooking, shopping, traveling, gossipping, business, politics and watching scary movies that we are actually too afraid to handle, then staying up all night because we can’t sleep. If we haven’t scared you off yet, don’t worry. There’s still time. 🙂
